Tradieprofile rules

Tradieprofile only works if customers can trust what they read. These rules apply to everyone who uses it: trades with a page, and customers who leave reviews or ask for quotes.

Reviews

A review must:

• Be about real work the trade did for you, or a real quote they gave you
• Be your own honest experience, written by you
• Be confirmed from your email address before it goes live

A review must not:

• Be written by the trade, their family, staff or friends, or by a competitor
• Be paid for, or swapped for a discount or anything else
• Include abuse, threats, discrimination or someone’s personal details

Trades can’t edit, hide or delete reviews. If a review breaks these rules, a trade can report it and we’ll check it. Reviews stay up while we check, and we only remove ones that break the rules, not ones that are simply negative.

How “Verified customer” works

Every review counts towards a trade’s rating, verified or not. A review is marked “Verified customer” only when the reviewer paid that trade by card through Tradieprofile, so we know a real customer paid for real work. Each payment can verify one review. After paying, the customer is emailed a link to leave a review; if they’d already left one, it’s marked verified instead.

Trades can’t add, remove or choose who gets the badge, and payments a trade makes to themselves don’t count. Reviews from customers who paid another way are just as welcome: they’re published and counted in the same way, without the badge.

Tradie profiles

If you have a page, everything on it must be true and yours to use. That means:

• Your business name, trade and area are accurate
• Photos are of your own work, or you have permission to use them
• You hold any registrations your work legally needs, such as Gas Safe for gas work
• You don’t claim memberships, qualifications or guarantees you don’t have

Quote requests

Only send a quote request if you’re genuinely interested in the work. Don’t use the form for sales pitches, spam or abuse. Trades must only use a customer’s details to reply about their request.

If someone breaks the rules

We may remove content, hide a page, or close an account. If you see something that breaks these rules, tell us.
